Phillip Shabazz is an acclaimed poet, author, and teaching artist who believes that your words have the power to change the world. Over his impressive career, he has taught at more than 300 schools, helping students find their unique voices through creative writing and storytelling. His work explores the big ideas of family, culture, and community, and has earned him a nomination for the prestigious William C. Friday Fellowship for Human Relations. Through his "Living Words" workshops, Phillip shows young writers how to use poetry as a direct tool for expression and personal connection. Whether he is writing about the resilience of local communities or mentoring aspiring authors, his goal is to make the arts fun, engaging, and inspiring for everyone.
